"Electricity output by primary energy source"

"The increase in generation from black coal is due primarily to FY2016 being AGL's first full year of operation of the Bayswater and Liddell power stations. The stations were also run at a higher capacity over the year. Changing market conditions in South Australia led to an increase of generation from the AGL Torrens gas fired power station accounting for the 55% increase in generation from gas. The significant increase in generation from solar is due to operation of the 102MW Nyngan solar plant for a full year and the 53MW Broken Hill solar plant since October 2015. "

"Data relates to the sent-out electricity generation from assets over which AGL has operational control regardless of who owns the asset. Assets where AGL controls or has rights to the electricity output only are not included."
"In addition to the electricity output shown, in FY2016, AGL produced 101 TJ of heat energy (as steam) from AGL's operated natural gas cogeneration facilities (FY2015: 109 TJ)."
"The output from the AGL Macquarie assets are included from the date of AGL's acquisition on 2 September 2014."
"Output is rounded to the nearest GWh."
