"Operational greenhouse gas footprint (by activity type)"

"The emissions from coal fired generation have increased compared to FY2015, due to FY2016 being the first full year of operation of the AGL Macquarie assets by AGL. Changing market conditions in South Australia led to an increase in generation from the Torrens Island gas fired power station, accounting for the increase in emissions from gas fired generation. The increase in emissions from gas production and storage are as a result of the first full year of operation of the Newcastle Gas Storage Facility and the Wallumbilla LPG Plant. "

Notes
"These figures include scope 1 and scope 2 emissions for facilities which AGL had operational control over during the period, regardless of who owns the asset. Assets where AGL controls or has rights to the electricity output only are not included."
"Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act methodologies."
"Greenhouse gas emissions associated with AGL Loy Yang are excluded from the operational footprint for FY2012 (and prior years), since AGL's acquisition took place so late in the financial year (29 June 2012). "
"Greenhouse gas emissions associated with AGL Macquarie assets are included from the date of AGL's acquisition on 2 September 2014."
"Hydrocarbon Extractions ceased operations in FY2015."
"Figures have been rounded up to the nearest ktCO2e."
